Ah, motherhood

Someday, in the distant future, someone will ask me "When did you first really feel like a *mom*?" And if I'm really truthful I'll tell them that I had that special moment when I was taking apart the car seat - after having removed the pad and thrown it in the laundry - cleaning the buckles and the straps and the little pieces, scrubbing them down so that it no longer smelled like sour milky spitup.
Because that's something I would have never done before, certainly.
In good positive news - the EB gained 8 ounces in the last 7 days (the guideline is an ounce a day), making her a little porker! (See,
rivka - there is hope!) Of course, right after that weigh-in was when she spit up massively and quite thoroughly, necessitating the above cleanup effort. We resisted the impluse to go back to the office (we hadn't gone far) to re-weigh after that.
Because that's something I would have never done before, certainly.
