the small victories

So, I'm really rather shy, and terrible about making friends. I'm just bad at reaching out to people, and coming out of my shell enough, and taking initial steps. So.... I took the enormous step (for me) of emailing someone the other day (a friend of a friend). She had forwarded something to me, and I happen to know she's pregnant, and so I sent her a chatty email asking about her pregnancy. And she wrote me back! She's having a baby shower, and asked for my address.

I know that to most people, this is run-of-the-mill, ordinary stuff, but to me it's a big deal. Yay.

The Electric Baby seems to be kicking. It must be time for lunch.
