A busy week.....

* Mom was here. It was a good visit. We managed to stay quite busy. We went and saw butterflies, we went out to eat a bunch (particularly Indian food), we went shopping. She babysat for us while we had a date night out (I had a brussels sprout and blue cheese salad with croutons and bacon walnut vinaigrette which was awfully good - I think they blanched the sprouts, and they would have been better either raw or seared. Or something - I think I need to experiment. And there was sushi and spicy pork and the boy had sea scallops - all yummy).

* Elena's 4th birthday was on Friday! Amazing..... We had a very busy couple of days focused on her, culminating in her birthday party yesterday. I don't have enough chairs for all the kids and parents we had here, so instead, we moved furniture out of the way, spread out a plastic tablecloth and had a picnic:



The cake was a butterfly (very easy):



She has really awesome friends, which is so *nice*. And their parents are pretty cool too, which is nice for me. :) One of her friends is a teeny bit bossy, so we've been talking since about What Do You Do If Someone Is Bossy? (Stand up for yourself!)

* It is the last week of winter quarter! Wooo! I'm finally almost rid of my loser-professor (*sigh*) and almost done with stats! WOOOOO!!! :)

* I got to see sanj! That would brighten up any day..... *hugs*

Is Cassie the bossy one? because she totally can be, when it's just the two of them. :D

How much longer do you think she will be able to do that butterfly-sitting style? *boggles*

The party was great fun, and that dinner sounded yummy!

Nope, Cassie is not the bossy one. But you could probably guess who was, since your gift was involved in some of the bossy issues..... :)

Yup, yup. And part of the issue was that Cassie and A. were at odds as to who was in charge of that gift, as opposed to, oh, Elena? *chuckle*

A. is pretty overbearing, in general. I mean, I like her, but she comes on strong. :) But she also means well, and is very sweet.

What a cute cake! It seems like the party was a real success. Not enough parents do parties at home these days, and I think those are the best ones.

It was so very pink..... My mom thinks it's hilarious that Elena is so into pink, like she's thwarting my feminist goals for her, or something. But my feminism is about CHOICES, which includes pink fairies. :)
