Addendum to yesterday's baby post

After a crying fit subsides, Elena usually comments "I still crying" - that generally means she's done for the moment (unless something else starts her off). I think she's trying to express that she still feels sad, that the reasons for crying have not gone away - so I'm trying to validate that. It's still quite funny - she says it so matter-of-factly.

Also: when she has something we're trying to get away from her, or trying to help her with (for example, putting toothpaste on her toothbrush) - she yanks it away from us, yelling "SHARE! SHARE!" I think somewhere she missed the main point of *sharing*. :)

Right now she's dawdling over lunch. I just asked her if she was done (because it's pretty much naptime now), and she said "No, I still eating my jelly sandwich." Though she appears to be watching TV with her daddy. So there you go.

We've missed out on most cartoons thus far. Thankfully. :)

Hi! You're welcome to poke around - I mostly write about my boring life, my child, and the books I read. :) Your child is just a few months younger than mine.....

What, "Share!" ISN'T what you say to someone else when you want them to give you something?? :)

God, what I would give if my kids would eat jelly sandwiches. That would be so easy to fix. Sammy would just lick all the jelly off and leave the bread.

"Share" is what you say when someone's taking something from you that you wanted to hold. I'm sure of it.

Heh. The best baby onesie I've seen so far is a red shirt with the hammer and sickle and the word SHARE! printed beneath. E's got the right idea: I like using the word as a command.

Sarah also does the "I'm still crying" thing. Also, Sarah's demanded for the past month or so that I do her hair exclusively in braids (something her preschool teacher did one day to keep her cool that Sarah just fell in love with), so she was thrilled to see Elena rocking the same hairstyle in your previous post.

Hunter tries to pull things back and hollers when we take things from him. I'm sure if he could talk he'd be yelling "Share!"
