My poor pook is sick.

It's just a cold - no big deal. But I feel so sorry for her, especially at night. She woke up early this morning, at like 5:45, just upset for no reason. [livejournal.com profile] galagan soothed her and got her back to sleep for another hour. She was just a little *off* all day. This afternoon after her nap, I let her just park on the couch and watch videos of Sesame Street. She threw a fit before bed, but we averted most of the screaming.

She goes to bed at 8:00. She woke up at 9:20. She was hysterically crying, and I couldn't understand her, and finally we made out "bagel! bagel!" Well, okay, she didn't have much for dinner, so maybe she's hungry? She ate part of a bagel slice, took a little Tylenol, and slid out of [livejournal.com profile] galagan's lap and said "Crib". She seems to have gone right back to sleep.

But I have a feeling it's gonna be a long night.

Poor thing. You guys, too. Here's hoping she sleeps through the rest of the night.

I'm starting to understand how scary a long night can be...

Did you use frozen bagels to help her teethe? I read about that just today, and wondered if everyone knew about that but me. Otherwise, the bagel request seems a little odd... but what do I know of a toddler's mind?

Who doesn't like bagels? It's a sign that the cold hasn't gone to her brain. Recovery is just around the corner.

The thing is, I'm well out of practice at waking up multiple times in the night - so when it happens, it hits me harder than it did when I did it every night. If that makes sense. And it wasn't too bad - she woke up at 10:40 (I was still awake then) and 12:45, and that was it.

Our grocery store sells sliced day-old bagels, and she loves them. I guess a bread-y product just sounded good to her at the time. :) We didn't really use frozen ones when she was teething, though I've heard of that. (I feel like I only ever realized she was teething retroactively - "oh, there's a tooth coming through now; no wonder you've been so grumpy for a week!")
