Your point is well-taken, but I still find labor scary, independent of whatever drama is added by medical horror stories. I'm scared of pain, so what I find terrifying is the prospect of birthing a baby -- as my body's currently configured it sounds like a physical impossibility. *g* I recognize that should I ever be in that position my body would adapt to fit the need, but it still sounds unbelievably overwhelming, physically. (So mad props to kcobweb for handling it with such equanimity!)
