And assuming we stay here (which we certainly plan on doing, darn it) - she and A will be in the same class at school, and can be friends for a long long time. I certainly hope so. (I think about that a lot, looking around at a roomful of toddlers we know - what it will be like to watch them all grow up.)
I was thinking the same thing at E's birthday party a couple of weeks ago--how, in the not too distant future, we would be sitting around at their graduation party. Or we'll look through his yearbook and see photos of kids that he went to daycare with.
When my sister and I were growing up, we used to visit my dad's best friend and his family in NJ a lot. My dad used to say how much they all liked to see the next generation becoming friends. I know what he means ... it's nice to see an emotional continuity.
