Weekend Update
May. 18th, 2008 08:48 pmThis was just a good weekend. Saturday was tag sale day - there were sales at the elementary school, the high school and the church where E's preschool is. Also, the Garden Club was having a plant sale. We got something at all of them - including a free plant for small kids from the Garden Club (Sweet Old Lady: We have geraniums, and that's a nasturtium, and.... well, we don't know what that one she's holding is. Elena: *This* one. So we have a mystery flower planted in front now.). We got 2 end tables for the family room, a stack of quilting magazines and a pretty remnant of green fabric, a big bag of wooden blocks and beads of all shapes and sizes, a lilac bush, and some clothes for Elena. We came home and planted stuff, and then I got an email from a guy who was giving away mint plants via Freecycle. So I drove off to fetch some mint and came back and planted it. I've wanted mint for a long time - I hope it takes over the whole patch of ground back there.
Today, we went to a Bennington diner for breakfast - Yum-EEEEE! On the place-mat was an ad for a place called The Chocolate Barn, not very far away. How could we not go? It's a barn, filled with antiques, chocolate and chocolate-making paraphenalia. Specifically, chocolate molds. I bought one shaped like an elephant for my dad (who collects elephants). Just a fun little shop. Ran some errands while we were up there, and then home, where I swallowed a book whole in a short space of time. :) Book reports to follow soon, I expect.
