Feb. 23rd, 2008 04:27 pmI feel like I've had troubles finding stuff to read that would hold my attention lately. And yet, I seem to have read plenty of books, looking at my list. *shrug*
( Books by Paterson, Wicklund, various, L'Engle, Ishiguro, Freud, Gaskell )

In other news, Elena is fine, after her adventures from the other day. Yesterday she refused to take a nap and then conked out on the couch watching TV with her daddy after dinner. We carried her upstairs and put her to bed (easiest! bedtime! ever!), and she didn't wake until 2 a.m. Then there was lots of waking between that hour and 5 a.m. Grrrr. It's hard to be rational at that hour; it's also tres tres difficile to work out a coherent parenting strategy. Today she didn't nap again (though I did, which is rare for me). Aaaand right now - she's zonked out on the couch, from watching a video. Perhaps I just need to start watching Animal Planet or something in the afternoons with her, and encourage this trend. I'm low on sleep *and* feeling like she won't ever sleep properly again (I know, I know - probably not true), which makes me very unhappy.
Bright spot: planning her birthday party for next weekend!
