Indulge me
Mar. 7th, 2007 09:38 pmMy little girl.... is now 2 years old.
( pictures: 2 years ago, 1 year ago, yesterday )
She is.... stunning. She talks non-stop (except when other people are around). She knows her basic shapes (circle, s'are, ta-goggle). She soaks in new words like a sponge. She can count up to 20-something, and recognizes those numbers when she sees them written down. She loves to run around in circles - doing so at playgroup, when there are other kids to run with, or to chase, brings shrieks of glee. She loves trying new foods - we can't eat *anything* these days without her demanding a suh-muh (spoon) or a fohk (fork) so that she can dig in (of course, it isn't quite the same on her own plate - she wants to share). This week's culinary discovery was that she loves lentils in an Indian-style dal.
Too many of my pictures are blurry because she so rarely stands still.
She has a green light-weight fleece jacket which she loves and has worn every day this week. In fact, she has slept in it the past few nights too - taking it off for a few seconds so I could get her shirt off and pajamas on brings agonizing screams until she can put it back on her body. Since she wears it 24 hours a day right now, I have no idea how it will ever get washed, and it may just be worn until the shreds fall off her body. (It was bought at a garage sale, so I can't even go buy a duplicate. But I may do some hunting for something similiar.)
She is loving and affectionate, demanding "huggy" on a regular basis (then she clutches the body of my shirt with a death grip, pulling me in). She loves animal pictures, and numbers and letters. She's obsessed with Elmo, as only a toddler can be. She got a tricycle for her birthday, so she can ride it up and down our new driveway, as soon as we move in, and, y'know, all the snow melts.
She's a toddler in every way - demanding (how many times have I used that word in this post?), mercurial, obsessive, curious, sweet and harsh and wonderful.
