Me: Shouldn't they call it Bad Friday instead of Good Friday?
D: Well, it's good because there's good stuff coming - you have to die to rise again.
Me: But you don't know that *today*. It's Good Sunday, but Bad Friday.

*Every* year. We're so predictable. (BTW - I've had this theory since I was 10. I have a calendar from 1983 on which I crossed out Good and wrote Bad for the appropriate holiday.)

In other news - yay for Freecycle! Also (not Freecycle) we now have a microwave and a kitchen garbage can and all kinds of good things. And Elena has a "poggy cher", which she has been talking about for several weeks already.

She also got Easter candy, so she's been chanting "eggy! chunk eggy!" over and over.

And just now she said "got com" (in other words, dot com). She repeats *everything* these days.

I, too, have had that conversation (or at least thought) every year, starting when I was a kid. I think they named it like that just to make people ask.

Yeah, more than once I've said "Happy Good Friday... oh wait, it's not Happy... I guess it's not Good either... so maybe just Friday, then?" Sigh.

Actually, you illuminate the distinction perfectly here. Not all that is good is necessarily happy.

More accurate just to cross out an "o". ;)

We (um, the adults) are very excited about the poggy cher, though of course it will take a looooong time to make it all a reality.

Hi! Since Elena and Cassie got on so well on Saturday, I thought I'd seek you out and add you. :D

As far as the "Good" Friday bit, channeling my mother, I can say that the actual act of dying was what made it possible for J. to throw the doors open to all. So. Good for humanity, not so great for him?

Also, yay poggy cher! We've had one out for almost a year now, and Cassie doesn't even have a name for it. Elena's vocab is really impressive. And all the letters she knows! *swoon*

Oh hi! It was nice to have another toddler around - Elena is so often the only kidlet. I hope she wasn't too pushy, or didn't upset Cassie by hugging (hogging?) you guys too much. ;)

Elena has only started talking much recently, so she has a.... selective vocabulary. She just really felt like performing for y'all the other night. I thought Cassie seemed so *Grown Up* compared to what I'm used to.

Not at all! Cassie is not easily upset, and it was lots of fun. Jay had met Elena once before at a United Way meeting Dan where brought her, and had already noted how like Cassie she seemed. :D
